(As with all remotes, you’ll notice background noise during the party I was invited to be at as an author and radio host of Lit Up! with Angela Breidenbach. However, this show was too valuable not to share. I think you’ll be able to listen in and enjoy it without much difficulty at all. Just wanted to make sure you knew that the two remote shows have a little different sound due to the live background.)

Writer’s Series on Coach Talk Radio

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmail

Special Writer’s Series on Coach Talk Radio about the writing industry by @CAN_AuthorNews president, @AngBreidenbach, and the host of Coach Talk Radio, @SandraBeck.

It’s free to listen online to this Writer’s Series on Coach Talk Radio, on Toginet Radio weekly, or on your regular podcast provider like iTunes or Google Play. If you’d like to binge listen now, feel free.

Meet my friend, Sandra Beck, of Coach Talk Radio.

Meet my friend, Sandra Beck, of Coach Talk Radio.

You’ll find the Writer’s Series on Coach Talk Radio.

The interesting thing about this series is that Sandra Beck simply asked me to co-host a few discussions with her about writing. But then, she let me invite several writing friends and we kept adding them and adding them… and then…kept recording. We’ve had a great time and hope you will not only enjoy this series, but that you’ll also learn a lot from a lot of great writers to help your career or simply enjoy learning more about the writers you love.

I’ll add the individual recordings and more helpful handouts over the next few months to my website.

Can’t afford a writing conference yet, learn from home. Then decide if you want to take if deeper. #FreeEducation #AmWriting

Have you heard?

Readers hang out on GoodReads! Readers that take the time to review books, hang out and talk about characters and stories? It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if you typed in the comments, “Sure I know that, but I’m an author and I can’t post about my books. If I do I get an angry note from the group moderator.”

So how can you get those book reviews if you can’t ask for them? Or how do you get those marvelous breakdown conversations about how your heroine should have chosen the blue dress because the yellow one wouldn’t look good with her hair color?

You may have heard how readers on Goodreads pushed that “50 shades of something” into the number one spot and you’ve tried but nothing is happening. GoodReads has a wealth of opportunities for authors if you know where to look and how to post.

Here’s a simple thing you can do right away:

Answer the polls and like the quotes. When you do that, your photo icon-you do have one, right?-will show up in your friend and followers newsfeeds. That brings the focus to you as a reader. Unpaid advertising when they click on your face and it takes you to your GoodReads authorpage!

Want to learn about giveaways, groups and reviews? In the Mastering Goodreads Workshop at the Montana Writer’s Retreat we’ll be looking at ways to get noticed, get read and get reviews.*

Please join us at the Montana Writer’s Retreat Aug. 7-Aug. 9, 2015 where learning is causal, brainstorming with others, and yes, food and fun.

*Please note we are not guaranteeing your success or the number one spot on the NYT bestseller list. You will learn how to use Goodreads effectively as a reader and an author.

Bio: Christian author, Diana Lesire Brandmeyer, writes historical and contemporary romances.
