About Julie Cowan:

Julie Cowan of WordCritterCreative
Julie Cowan of WordCritterCreative

Julie Cowan has worked in the communications field for more than 30 years in various capacities—television producer, radio news reporter, public relations director, writer, editor and photographer, and she loves them all. Some of her former employers and clients have included WDHO TV, Intermountain Healthcare hospital system, KIML radio, Montana Meth Project, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Boone and Crockett Club, and author Angela Breidenbach.

Julie is a freelance editor, photographer, graphic designer and event manager who works from home operating WordCritter Creative, and her work has appeared on air and in newspapers, newsletters and magazines over the years. Julie is also a digital scrapbook designer who does “scrap-for-hire” and has served on the creative team at PixelScrapper.com since 2014. She loves to shuffle across the hall to her office in her oft-donned workday attire consisting of bare feet, capris or lounge pants and a comfy t-shirt, but she promises she wears shoes and appropriate apparel for her out-of-office forays—mostly because she would hate for her everyday getup to show up on social media somewhere. Julie loves taking photos to capture a moment in time and is especially fond of taking photos of the local flora and fauna. You can often see her floating and fishing the rivers of western Montana or northwest Wyoming, usually with a camera in her hand or within easy reach. She is married with two grown daughters who also love the outdoors and taking photos.
